PromptForge AI — Privacy Policy

PromptForge AI ("the extension") helps you turn rough ideas into structured AI prompts. We are privacy-first: most features run entirely on your device, and we collect as little as possible.

1. What runs locally (no data leaves your device)

• Prompt generation (the local rule-based engine), templates, quality score and suggestions.
• Your preferences and prompt history are stored only on your device using chrome.storage.local. They are never uploaded.

2. Data we process when you choose certain features

• AI Boost (optional): when you click "AI Boost", the prompt text is sent to the AI provider you selected (the built-in Cosmiq AI service, or your own Google Gemini / Groq / OpenAI / OpenRouter key) to generate an improved prompt. We do not store this text on our servers.
• Account & trial / Pro (optional): if you start a trial or buy Pro, we collect your email address and a one-time verification code to manage your trial and subscription. This is stored on our backend (Cloudflare) solely to operate the trial/subscription and prevent abuse.
• Payments: payments are processed by Razorpay. We never see or store your card details. We store a payment reference and your subscription status.

3. What we do NOT do

• We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
• We do not use analytics or tracking.
• We do not read the content of the web pages you visit. The optional on-page "Improve Prompt" helper only processes text you type into its own box.
• We do not collect browsing history, cookies, or any data beyond what is described above.

4. Third-party services

Depending on the features you use, your data may be processed by: the Cosmiq AI service (Hugging Face), or your chosen AI provider (Google, Groq, OpenAI, OpenRouter); Cloudflare (backend hosting); Resend (sending your verification email); and Razorpay (payments). Each has its own privacy policy.

5. Data retention & deletion

You can clear your local history anytime from the extension's Settings. To delete your account data (email/subscription record) from our backend, email us and we will remove it.
