Privacy Policy

The short version

TabNest stores everything on your computer. We don't run a tracking server, we don't sell anything to anyone, and we don't even know how many tabs you have. The only data that ever leaves your machine is your purchase email + activation code, and only when you're activating or re-verifying Pro.

What the extension reads (locally)

To organise your tabs, TabNest reads from Chrome:

• Tab URLs, titles, and favicons — to categorise tabs into nests.
• Tab group info — to place tabs into native Chrome groups.
• Tab activity timestamps — to detect stale tabs.

All of this stays on your computer in chrome.storage.local. None of it is transmitted anywhere by the extension.

What we store (locally)

• Your saved workspaces (snapshots of URL + title lists you chose to save).
• Your custom nests (categories you defined).
• Your tab notes (text notes you wrote, keyed by URL).
• Your theme preference and other settings.
• Your TabNest Pro state (email, 6-digit code, last-verified timestamp) if you bought Pro.

You can export all of this to JSON at any time via Settings → Data → Export. You can delete all of it by uninstalling the extension.

What we transmit (only for Pro)

If — and only if — you purchase TabNest Pro:

• At purchase, the landing page sends Razorpay your payment details (handled entirely by Razorpay). After payment, our server (Google Apps Script) records your email + Razorpay payment ID in a Google Sheet, and emails you a 6-digit activation code.
• At activation, the extension sends your email + 6-digit code to our server to verify it matches a paid purchase.
• Every 7 days while Pro is active, the extension re-checks your email + code with the server. This is a background check — no UI, no interruption.

We never transmit tab URLs, titles, notes, workspaces, or any browsing data. Activation data (email, payment ID, code, date) lives in our Google Sheet so we can verify purchases and offer support.

Third parties

• Razorpay — processes your payment. See Razorpay's privacy policy.
• Google (Apps Script, Sheets, Gmail) — runs our purchase server and sends activation emails. See Google's privacy policy.
• Google Fonts — the extension and landing page load fonts from fonts.googleapis.com.

We don't use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, Hotjar, or any other tracker.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your data — there's nothing to sell.
• We don't show ads.
• We don't track your browsing.
• We don't share data with anyone except Razorpay (for the payment itself).

Refunds and your right to delete

Email support@tabnest.app with your purchase email or payment ID and we'll:

• Refund within 7 days, no questions asked.
• Delete your row from our Google Sheet on request.
• Re-send your activation code if you lost the email.

Changes

If we ever change this policy materially we'll update the date at the top and (for material changes) try to notify Pro users by email.
